CACCOA Officer of the Year


This Award is given to an individual that has been directly involved in the animal control profession for a minimum of three years. The recipient must demonstrate a deep commitment to the animal care & control profession by proactive and progressive actions. Recipients may be nominated for a single outstanding achievement or for long-term exceptional performance in the animal control field.


CACCOA Volunteer of the Year


This Award is for outstanding volunteer service. The nominee selected to win this Award is someone who is not directly employed in the animal care control field but serves in volunteer capacity within the animal care & control field. He or she will have demonstrated exceptional dedication or performed outstanding work far beyond the requirements of the volunteer position. To nominate someone for this award, you must work with, or have direct first-hand knowledge of the nominee.


CACCOA Outstanding Agency Award


This Award is given to an outstanding animal care & control agency. Selection criterion for this Award may include effective training programs for personnel, outstanding/innovative public education programs, active community involvement, maintenance of a socially conscience facility and through all their actions that elevate the animal care & control profession.


CACCOA Legislator of the Year


This award is given to a legislator in Connecticut who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to advancing legislation and awareness efforts related to the protection of animals and people (pertaining to animals). Special consideration will be given to legislators who maintain open communication with Animal Care & Control Officers on these issues. Recipients may be nominated for a single outstanding achievement or for long-term exceptional performance.
